Day 1. Meet in Grand Junction, CO! Shuttle to Moab!
We are keeping the travel easy and doing the pickup in Grand Junction. After our early morning pick-up and bike fits, we will head down the road to Fruita for our first ride together. This will be a perfect way to shake our legs and warm-up while riding on one of North America’s favourite trail networks.
We’ll hop in the van after an awesome ride and enjoy the scenic and laid back shuttle to Moab.
Once we arrive in Moab, we’ll check into lodging for the week, and grab some delicious dinner downtown. We will review the plan for the week over beers. Welcome to Moab!
Day 2. Moab Brand to Klondike Bluffs
Wake up and fuel up, time to hit the trail. First ride today will start from the hotel. We will ride Moab Brand Trails with a warm up on the Moab Canyon Path.
The Moab Brand Trails will start gentle. As we climb, views of Arches National park will come into site. Drop back down some more technical lines look for the lunch spot.
In the afternoon we will make our way to the Klondike Bluffs and turn it up after we grab another stunning view of the wind carved arches from another vantage point. Rip back down to find your shuttle and head back into town for the beer cooler and night on the town.
Day 3. Magnificent 7
Let’s go big! The Mag 7 ride will start with a short shuttle out of town, but we will still be earning our descent. Once on bike we start with a climb on 7‑up and make our way to the high end of the Mag 7 trails. From there we will point back to town. While we will have plenty of double climbs, the trend is downhill and technical. Great opportunity to test your bike handling skills.
View from the high point and point back to town will be classic mesa under your wheels with the La Sal mountains standing majestic the back.
You should be warn out by now, but if you are down for more riding, and need to hit a classic, it’s time to pedal Slickrock.
Beer, food, rest, you know the routine.
Day 4. Porcupine Rim +
How do you go to Moab and not run the Porcupine Rim?
Our shuttle is going to give us a nice boost but once out of the van, we will still have a couple challenging miles of climbing to get to the rim. Once once top, the hard work will be rewarded with long stunning views of Castle Valley.
From here we will spend the rest of our ride descending on the cliff edge (with plenty of room between the trail and the actual edge) riding loose terrain all the way to the Colorado River. We will pedal back into town on the road and hunt down the beer cool back at lodging.
The afternoon should present a good opportunity to have a look around town before dinner. Ready for more?
Day 5. Amasa Back
No Van. We are pedaling from town and heading for Amasa Back, home of the infamous Captain Ahab trail.
This AM ride will start with a challenging climb. From our highpoint, we will have a 360 views that will have us pointing our lines we have done and will hit before the week is done. tight climbing lines will take us out to Pothole Arch before we turn around and start the wicked fun Captain Ahab.
This ride is a test for everyone who rides it. There are line options of course, but you will feel accomplished when this ride is under your belt.
Lunch back in town. You can take the afternoon off, or chose to head back up for a different version of the Amasa Back
Day 6. Break up the band
Before we go too far, we will hop on bikes and have a final ride. We will spend part of the mornign reviewing all the skill building tools we have been polishing and have a personalized homework plan to prep for our next tour.
As Moab is central to many amazing National Parks and Monuments, you might want to consider spending a couple more days exploring off the bike. If the office is calling we will head back to Grand Junction for drop off.
